This past weekend was the first week of NFL pre-season, and we got to see some of the rookie QB’s in action. Continue reading to see stats and breakdown of the big-name rookie QB’s.
Sam Bradford (Rams) – 6/13, 57 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT, 1 Fum, 4 sacks
Tim Tebow (Broncos) – 8/13, 105 yds, 1 Rush TD, 0 INT, 1 sack
Jimmy Clausen (Panthers) – 8/15, 80 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT, 1 Fum, 2 sacks
Colt Mccoy (Browns) – 5/10, 25 yds, 0 TD, 2 INT
Out of all four big-name rookie QB’s, I think it’s pretty clear that Tim Tebow did the best. And yes, you are reading that right. The guy they said couldn’t throw an NFL pass has one of the better rookie QB debuts in week 1 of pre-season. Yes, it is pre-season, but some of these guys won’t even get much playing time in the regular season unless you’re Sam Bradford who’s getting paid ridiculous money. Bradford and Clausen looked solid. They weren’t spectacular, but they weren’t bad either. On the other hand, Colt Mccoy did absolutely terrible. He is also not practicing due to a thumb injury he had during the game on one his throws that was an interception.
Pre-season continues this weekend and it should be interesting to see how these guys progress.
