[UPDATE]: Xbox 360 “Slim”

[UPDATE]: Engadget just got their hands on a specs sheet. Check it out after the jump.

This just went down at E3 in L.A.

Microsoft announced their new design for the Xbox 360. The new Xbox is smaller, has more memory and a few new features.

Here’s a quick run down:

  • 250 GB storage
  • Built-In 802.11n WiFi
  • ExtUSB port in the back of the console (probably for Kinect)
  • Noise reduction – a quieter on board fan
  • HD-DVD [rumored]

The best part of all this is that the new Xbox will go for the same price as the current Xbox, $299. Oh and it’s being shipped to stores TODAY and should be available later THIS WEEK.

That is unless you were one of the lucky few that were in attendance at the conference who get if for free. Yes, that’s right FOR FREE. People in the UK, you’ll have to wait until July 16th to get your hands on this.
